Gabriella was born and raised in Carmel, California and began writing in earnest around the age of ten with the encouragement of her elementary school teachers.
She attributes her lifelong love of reading to her first and second grade teachers at the former Carmel Woods’ School, and the natural progression of her writing, to a favored English teacher at Carmel High.
As an adult, she spent many years in the social work field, as a case manager and program director for several youth employment programs, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, foster care, child abuse prevention, and other programs assisting the economically challenged.
Gabriella is the founder, writer and publisher of a cancer patient advocacy website, newsletter, and patient handbooks, serving intestinal cancer patients in 48 countries.
However, her “heart of hearts” and her "kukui" lies in her “Where the Red Tailed Hawk Flies” series of non fiction books, expressing her observations of life.
She writes about overcoming obstacles, encouragement in spite of life’s challenges, politics, and, most of all, of her love of nature along the Central Coast of California.
She invites you to enjoy this site, the beauty of nature, and to be well!
