Prayers

Auntie’s Prayer 

Dear Lord,
My nephews and nieces capture my heart.

Thank you
for the opportunity to
mentor, encourage and to teach
these young people who are so dear to me.

Help me
to make wise decisions as an aunt,
a mentor, a confidante, a role model, and, sometimes,
a pinch hitter for their overwhelmed parents.

Show me
to step back,
to teach with a cool head,
and a warm heart.

Allow me
to remind these beloved children
that they are always welcome in my home.

Guide me
to serve you through my busy day
in a manner that honors you.

In Jesus’ name I pray and thank you for your blessings.
Amen.
