Where the Red Tailed Hawk Flies

Scatter my ashes where the Red Tailed Hawk flies.

Scatter my ashes along the hi
lltops of
Fremont Peak and Toro Park facing west
so that I can see the sun set each evening
and the clear skies and sparkling stars at night.

Scatter my ashes along Scenic Drive at Carmel
where the blue Pacific meets the sugar fine sand at the beach,
Where the Cypress trees wrap around us with outstretched boughs.

Scatter my ashes at the Pond’s shore
where the herons nest each spring
where the bobcat stands guard and
black tailed deer drink their fill.

Scatter my ashes where you will visit me in the Spring,
where the purple lupin paint the hillside
and the bright poppies open with the sun.

Scatter my ashes where you will visit me in the Fall,
when the fog has left the shore,
and you are awestruck with the beauty of the Central Coastline.

Protect my totem
the wolf, the cougar, the hawk
from the most feared of all creatures,
the human.

Scatter my ashes where the Red Tailed Hawk flies...
